Continental Automotive, a supplier of interior electronics for the world’s leading car manufacturers, has earned a 2023 elogistics Award for its successful deployment of the AutoStore storage system at its manufacturing plant in Brandýs nad Labem. Continental collaborated on this challenging project with Aimtec, a systems integrator and digitalisation expert. The deployment of the AutoStore system is a part of the digitalisation strategy for Continental plants. This year’s award winners were announced on 26 April 2023 at the AKJ automotive industry congress in Saarbrücken. Continental received this award in the Processes and Tools category.

Europe’s automotive experts will be coming to the Trends in Automotive Logistics (TAL) conference in Pilsen on 16 May to discuss the trends shaping this sector. TAL is organised by Aimtec in cooperation with IHK Regensburg and the German-Czech Chamber of Industry and Commerce. This year’s 22nd edition will help participants to see what’s “Behind the Scenes at a Digital Factory.”

Over 70 hackers, 12 teams and precisely 40 hours of programming. All with a single goal – helping people with disabilities who brought the event with a whole list of problems they must face every day. That was #AimtecHackathon 2023 in a nutshell. Subtitled “When Code Helps,” it was held on 3–5 March at Pilsen’s Moving Station. What projects were born in these brief hours? And did they fulfil their tasks?

For the two merged companies’ customers and partners in business, nothing is changing; all obligations, rights and responsibilities are passing to the overarching entity, Aimtec a.s. The reason for this merger is increased efficiency for internal processes and administration.

Continental Automotive is an interior-electronics supplier for major global automakers. Its deployment of the world’s most advanced warehouse system, AutoStore, at its Brandýs nad Labem plant is the first such deployment in the Czech Republic. It installed this system at its plant in record time, and trial operation officially began on 19 April 2022. Aimtec’s DCIx platform is also helping to increase this plant’s digitalisation; it connects several systems simultaneously throughout the plant.
