Continental

An automatic storage system using a digitalisation platform

1200x627 Continental CaseStudy

Continental has a long tradition in automotive, and it supplies a wide range of components for global brands. At Continental’s Czech plant in Brandýs nad Labem, the WMS within Aimtec DCIx handles the receipt and put-away of up to 1,500 materials deliveries each day. The main advantage of this solution is flexibility and thus swifter responses to customer requirements. In 2022, the company introduced a flexible and modular AutoStore robotic solution.

Aimtec DCIx digitalisation platform advances the company towards digitalisation as well; it interconnects several systems at once across the entire enterprise. Aimtec DCIx enables communication among the individual systems and all the storage technologies that they control. It governs the warehouse’s automated guided vehicles, its Kardex Vertical Lift Modules and its fully automated AutoStore storage system

In addition, the VNA trolleys were equipped with Zebra Technologies' trolley terminals and DS3678 extra durable scanners with long distance reading capability. Operators use MC9X series mobile terminals.
