Scherdel from Marktredwitz, Germany, manufactures technical springs and assemblies for electric vehicles. The medium-sized company employs 6,800 people at 35 locations worldwide. Scherdel is continuously optimising and digitising its processes to meet the orders and complex requirements of the automotive industry. To this end, the company has implemented various projects, for example Aimtec deployed the WMS within Aimtec DCIx for Scherdel’s materials storage and production supply. This solution controls and integrates new technologies – autonomous robotic trains and an AKL (Automatisches Kleinteilelager) rack. The latest collaboration between Scherdel and Aimtec is the integration of the Aimtec SCIx scanner solution as part of the transition to SAP S/4HANA in a pilot project.
