Sellier & Bellot is one of the world’s oldest manufacturers in the munitions and defence industry. Its portfolio includes a wide range of ammunition for hunting and sport, as well as for military and police forces. Due to an increase in its manufacturing activities, it added a new automated warehouse for finished products, controlled by DCIx as a digitalisation platform.
The system supplied by Aimtec covers the put-away and picking operations performed by automated stackers, as well as packing checks and weight checks. It integrates the equipment used – conveyors, cranes, feeders, scales and winders – into one single functional whole. For the monitoring of pallet movements, it uses barcode scanners on the input conveyors and sensors notifying of these codes’ journey through the conveyor. The WMS communicates with the company’s existing ERP system.
